ABOUT HWG
High Water Gamble is an exciting, high energy band that has its roots in Southeastern Oklahoma. The group has been together since fall of 2012 when Guitarist/Vocalist Dario Bellettini and Bassist John Barnette decided to form a new group in the ashes of the band where they had met.
HWG’s style is hard to sum up in a single genre, as they let many of their influences be represented in a Gamble performance, from greasy southern & alternative rock, to stripped-down singer songwriter moments on an acoustic set. It’s 100% Oklahoma grown Americana Music.
The band recorded their debut album in Austin, TX in the summer of 2015 at renowned Bubble Recording Studios with acclaimed Producer/Engineer Chris “Frenchie” Smith at helm. “The Color of Your Money” was released that fall receiving some regional radio attention. The band went on hiatus to spend time with family at the end of 2015, reforming with various lineups over the following couple of years doing a handful of shows.
HWG is back at full strength, having new drive and focus.
"Last night I was able to watch High Water Gamble at The Grateful Head Pizza Oven & Taproom. Let me just say it was awesome. What a great place and a wicked cool band!"

"Make no mistake, High Water Gamble did an incredible job opening the night up. They kicked off the show with their take on The Black Keys' "I Got Mine", which being a Black Keys fan made me "giddy". They are incredibly strong for a three piece act. A good rule of thumb is beware the three piece. It just usually feels like something is missing. With HWG, this simply isn't the case. They rocked it and kept the dance floor alive. I recommend taking in some HWG. They don't disappoint.”
